Jurell L. Mayes 10, born August 12,2008 passed away January 15,2019 after a brief illness in a local hospital surrounded by family. He was a 4th grader at JI Watson Elem. He enjoyed playing football, singing, drawing and being around his family. Jurell is survived by his mother Teryn Vital-Mayes 30, of Iowa la his father Joseph Mayes 29, of Hankamer,Tx. Sisters Makenzie 11, Maliyah 8, Mariyah 4, and Brothers Jarveyn 7 , Jamell 6. Grandfather Mervin "Joe" Vital of Iowa,La. and Grandmother Chaney Swift Of Hankamer,Tx. A host of aunts uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandmother Jennifer Vital , great grandfather Tom Mayes and great uncle Nolan Mayes.
