Obituary Kernist (Jake) Jacob entered peacefully into eternal rest in his heavenly home on November 7, 2021 at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital with his loving wife at his side and his family nearby. Jake as he was affectionately known was born to Carmmon Jacob Sr. and Angelic Tezeno Jacob on July 8, 1947. He was the oldest of 14 children born to his parents. He accepted Christ at an early age and was a Devout Catholic. His formative years were spent in Ville Platte, La. His family moved to Mossville, La. and later to Lake Charles La. where he attended school. He Graduated from Washington High School. He also attended Southern University for a period of time. He enlisted into the Air Force and was a Vietnam veteran. He remained in Fairfield, California after his military service ended and worked as a pipe fitter for Mare Island Naval Shipyard. He returned to Lake Charles to marry Brenda Hampton who he met as a child and vowed to marry when he was older. They lived in Fairfield, California and later moved back to Lake Charles. They opened Jacob's Drive-Inn for a period of time. He later worked as a longshoreman for the Port of Lake Charles until his retirement. He was preceded in death by his parents Carmmon Jacob Sr. and Angelic Tezeno Jacob, paternal and maternal grandparent and three brothers Donald Ray, L. B. Robertson and Robert Jacob. Those left to cherish his memories are his wife Brenda; three brothers, Carmmon Jacob Jr., Martin Jacob of Lake Charles, La.; and Davis (Sandra) Jacob of Austin Texas; seven sisters, Helen (Sidney) Beaver, Gloria Jacob, Bertha (James) Gobert, and Wanda Jacob of Lake Charles, LA.; Rose ( the late Barry) Edwards of Carencro, LA.; Retha (Craig) Madison and Betty Jacob of Austin Texas; two children, Curtis and Shauntel Jacob of Fairfield California; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; a host of family and friends; Treva Jones a bonus sister and two special friends, Melvin Cook of Lake Charles, LA. and Andrew Whittaker of Sacramento, CA.
