Obituary

King Lee John was born on September 13, 2006, to Sheldon Lee John and Alana Ceasar-John in
Jacksonville, Florida. Weighing just 3 lbs 14 oz at birth, King began life as a preemie, facing and
overcoming early challenges, including hearing issues, with remarkable strength and resilience.
He grew into an exceptional student, earning a 4.3 GPA and thriving in both academics and
extracurricular activities.

King's academic achievements were recognized early on. In May 2018, while in 5th grade, he
was awarded the prestigious American Legion School Award for Courage, Honor, Leadership,
Patriotism, Scholarship, and Service. His dedication to learning and his passion for knowledge
were evident throughout his school years. As a member of several clubs, including the Book
Club, Robotics Club, Jr Kappa League, and the National Society of High School Scholars, King
was always eager to explore new ideas and challenge himself.

Entering his senior year at Oakleaf High School, King was excited for the future and his
upcoming college journey. Despite his young age, King was known for his calm and peaceful
nature, often embodying wisdom beyond his years. His quiet demeanor was coupled with a
wealth of knowledge that made him a source of inspiration and guidance for those around him.
His love for history, video games, and reading made him a well-rounded and curious young man.
King was also a member of the Weightlifting Team and enjoyed activities like archery and
visiting the gun range, showcasing his diverse interests and strong will.

King's smile was a beacon of warmth and kindness, lighting up every room he entered. His
gentle spirit and peaceful presence touched everyone he met. Even as a child, his calm
disposition was evident—except on those long road trips to Louisiana. Despite his serene nature,
King would cry without his pacifiers during those journeys, a cherished memory that his family
will always remember.

Beyond his accomplishments, King was a beloved son, brother, and friend. His godparents,
Melanie Ceasar-Amponsah (John) and the late Shelvin John (Donna), played a significant role in
his life, as did his sister, Jaylyn Ceasar, and his nephews, Kain and Knox, with Knox also being
his godchild. King leaves behind a family who cherished him deeply, including his parents,
Sheldon Lee John and Alana Ceasar-John, and his sister, all of Jacksonville, Florida.
King is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Herbert Lee John; paternal grandmother,
Margaret Harmon (Curtis); paternal uncle, Shelvin John; maternal grandfather, Swiney Ceasar
Sr.; and maternal aunt, Heather Ceasar. He leaves to mourn his passing his maternal
grandmother, Ella Mae Ceasar, his aunts and uncles Swiney Ceasar Jr. (Edana), Melanie CeasarAmponsah (John), Danielle Ceasar-Jones (Stacey), Santana John (McKeithen), and Joneeka
John, along with a host of cousins, friends, and a family who loved him dearly.

A special thanks
is extended to family friend Tavares Hardy, Coach Aaron Samples, Principal Mathew Boyack,
Teacher Johanna Layne, and the ACE Department for their significant impact on King's life.
King's life, though far too brief, was filled with love, laughter, and countless achievements. His
memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He will forever be
remembered as a bright light who touched the lives of many, and his legacy of courage, intellect,
and kindness will continue to inspire us all.
