Lafayette Miller Jr., was born in Marshallville, Georgia, Wednesday, November 24, 1937. He departed this earthly life on Monday, October 14, 2024, at the age of 86.

He retired from the Air Force in 1978 as a master sergeant with 22½ years of service. Lafayette worked for more than ten years with Consolidated Aluminum and more than ten years with Gulf State Utilities. He also was a school crossing guard and worked at Mr. Lee Beauty Supply store.

Lafayette was married to Mary Jean Lubin Miller for more than sixty-five years. They welcomed four children.

He was a member of the Mount Calvary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Elmore Garner where he served faithfully as an usher.

Lafayette leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Mary Jean Miller; one daughter, Jeanise Miller Bolling (Larry) of Lake Charles, Louisiana; four sons, Al Steven Lane of Marshallville, Georgia, Ronald Miller (Annik) of Forest, Virginia, Kevin Miller and Jeffrey Miller Sr. (Christina) both of Lake Charles, Louisiana; five brothers, Alfred Fuller, Richard Fuller, Robert Fuller and Milton Fuller all of Marshallville, Georgia and Alphonzo Perez Miller (Ruthie) of Detroit, Michigan; four sisters, Shirley Kendrick of Perry Georgia, Betty Cooper and Fannie Mae (Rumph) Jones both of Marshallville, Georgia and Sandra Miller Johnson of Endwell, New York; ten grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; brother in law, Sherman Lubin and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

He was preceded by his parents, Lafayette Miller Sr. and Lula Mae Fuller; brothers, Harold Miller, Jamie Miller, & Edward Cooper; sisters, Virginia Cooper & Wilma Jean Fuller Monfort.
