IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Larry C.
Knatt
September 8, 1951 – December 3, 2024
On Tuesday, December 3, 2024, the Almighty God in His infinite mercy called Larry Clayton Knatt to eternal rest, granting him peace in a land free from sickness and pain.
Larry was born on September 8, 1951, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, to Wesley Knatt and Florence Carrier Knatt. He accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized, remaining a devoted follower of Christ throughout his life.
Larry graduated in 1969 from W.O. Boston High School and went on to earn a Bachelor's degree from McNeese State University in 1973. A proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., Larry later pursued further education, graduating from Delgado Community College of New Orleans on December 20, 1978, with an Associate of Science in Engineering Graphics.
His professional journey took him to Houston, Texas, where he worked briefly for Gulf State Utilities. He then moved to Dallas, Texas, where he built a distinguished career as a drafting engineer at Bell Helicopter, retiring after 30 years of dedicated service. In 2006, Larry returned to his hometown of Lake Charles, Louisiana, to embrace a quieter life.
Upon returning, Larry rejoined Mount Calvary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Elmore Garner. He was an active member of the Male Chorus, participated in the Men's Day Choir, and was a devoted Sunday School attendee. Larry's life was a testament to his faith and dedication to Christ. In his leisure time, he found joy in fishing, which brought him peace and relaxation.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Wesley and Florence Knatt; brothers, Andre Dwayne Knatt, Howard Knatt, Anthony Leslie Knatt, and Donald White; and sisters, Mona Bryant, Florence Ann Howard, and Constance Elaine Knatt.
He leaves to cherish his memory five brothers: Michael Knatt (Veronica) and Don Muhammad, both of Lake Charles, Louisiana; Andre Kevin Knatt (Desiree) of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Keith Randall Knatt Sr. (Gwen) of Dallas, Texas; and Rufus Williams of Los Angeles, California. Larry is also survived by six sisters: Lesha King (Wayne) of Jacksonville, North Carolina; Jearldean Guillory (John) of Lake Charles, Louisiana; Dianna Knatt of Dallas, Texas; Cathy Esses (Bobby) of La Puente, California; Donna Lilly of Iowa, Louisiana; and Ruthie Cade of Los Angeles, California, along with a host of other loving relatives and friends.
Larry's life was a beacon of faith, family, and service. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew him.
