Obituary

Laura Taylor Babineaux died peacefully at 91 on Saturday, March 15, 2025.

Laura Taylor Babineaux was born to Adeline and Gustav Taylor on May 12, 1933. She moved to Lake Charles in 1949 to care for her ailing sister and met and married the love of her life, Leo Babineaux. They built a loving family of five children, twelve grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren from that union.

She was a devoted member of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church for 75 years. She prayed the rosary daily and other daily prayers. She believed in thanking the Lord and praising his name.

Mrs. Babineaux was preceded in death by her parents, Adeline and Gustav Taylor; her husband, Leo Babineaux Sr.; her son, Gary Babineaux; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, James, and Joseph Taylor; and three sisters, Ella May Celestine Mable O'Brien, and Mary LJ Allen.

She is survived by her two sons, Leo Babineaux Jr. (Michele) of Lake Charles, LA, and Lynn David Babineaux, Sr. of Basile, LA; two daughters, Aleria Babineaux Jones of Lacombe, LA, and Lynette Babineaux of Lake Charles, LA; twelve grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Her visitation will be Thursday, March 27, 2025 from 9:00 A.M. to 11:45 A.M. in Combre Funeral Home with her funeral following at 12:00 P.M. in Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Combre Funeral Home.
