Obituary
Laura E. Hawkins age 91 was born and raise in Lake Charles, Louisiana. She was born February 6, 1928 and finish life race on January 14, 2020. SHE WON THE RACE ! Her parents were George and Almead Hawkins of Lake Charles, Louisiana.
Mother was baptized and accepted Christ at an early age; attended Mount Calvary Baptist Church under the Leadership of Rev. D.J. Jones in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
Mother was a single parent raising four children, two boys and two girls. Hard worker, excellent provider. She enjoyed looking good, dressing well and made sure her children dressed well also. She loved dancing, music, the festivities of the Holidays, favorite was Christmas.
For the past nine years mother was in the Jefferson Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Beaumont, Texas where her life race end.
She preceded in death by two sisters Bernice Hawkins and Elizabeth "Becky" Hawkins; two children Mary Ann Hawkins and Ralph Hawkins.
Mother leaves to cherish her memory son Harvey(Dianne)Hawkins of Lake Charles, Louisiana; daughter Lisa Hawkins of Beaumont, Texas; one niece Judy Trail of Lake Charles, Louisiana; three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; host of relatives and friends.
