Lauraline Ellen Orebo Guidry entered eternal rest at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at her home after a lengthy illness. Lauraline lived in Lake Charles, LA for the past 61 years. She accepted her calling as homemaker, mother and wife and fulfilled that calling until she heard the words, "Well done, my good and faithful servant." Lauraline accepted Christ at an early age and made First Communion and Confirmation at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Beaumont, Texas. She attended Blessed Sacrament Catholic School and Charlton Pollard High School.
She leaves to cherish her memory two sisters, Carolyn Antwine (Billy Ray) and Carrie Orebo both of Beaumont, Texas, a brother, Daniel Orebo (Lilly) of Raywood, Texas, eight children, six sons James, Michael, Robert, Mark (Cassandra), Don and Calvin B. Guidry, all of Lake Charles, two daughters, Beverly A. Guidry and Lisa Lewinski of Lake Charles, LA., daughter-in-law Theresa Abraham and a beautiful caregiver, Christy Yazzie. She also leaves to cherish her memory and her legacy, 17 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren, cousins, friends and great nieces and nephews.
Lauraline was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Calvin J. Guidry, a son, Bryan C. Guidry, her parents, William Orebo and Josephine Guillory Orebo, two brothers Wallace Orebo and William Orebo, Jr. and a granddaughter, Kai Mikel Guidry.
Viewing will be from 8:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m., Saturday, September 22, 2012 at Combre Funeral Home, 1200 Mill Street, Lake Charles, LA. Funeral services will begin at 10:30 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 2031 Opelousas Street. The Very Reverend Marcus Johnson, V.F. will officiate. Burial will be in Combre Memorial Park under the direction of Combre Funeral Home.
