Lawrence Pete, Sr, age 77, answered the heavenly call peacefully while in the presence of his home surrounded by his family on Wednesday, February 21, 2018. He departed this earthly life and entered into eternal rest to his heavenly home. He was the oldest of four born to the union of Joseph and Rena "Antoine" Pete on December 9, 1940.

Lawrence attended W. O. Boston High School. He was a devoted catholic and member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church faithfully every Saturday until his health began to decline.

He worked for PPG Industries for over 30 years, from which he retired. After retiring, he spent most days sitting out on the porch with his mother, enjoying his vehicles and loving not having to work.

Lawrence was fondly known as "Bounce" and "Peter Gun". He enjoyed talking on the C.B., watching karate movies, westerns, and the "Dallas Cowboys".

He leaves to cherish his memories two daughters, Dena (Ray) Jones of Lake Charles, Louisiana, Monique (Kataba) Khan of College Park, Georgia, and Lawrence (Vanessa) Pete, Jr. of Lake Charles, Louisiana. Eight grandchildren, Lance James of Ellenwood, Georgia, Mikel James and Caleb Khan of College Park, Georgia, Courtnee Pete of Houston, Texas, Kimberly, Lauren, and Jesica Pete of Lake Charles, Louisiana, Dylan Prudhomme of Welsh, Louisiana and Ghabreyl Rideau of Lake Charles, Louisiana. Nine great grandchildren, Lance Terele, Kelan, Amaya, Natalia, A'Dyn, Lucas, Noah, Nori and Nylie. One brother, Horace Pete of San Francisco, California; his aunt, Ella Pete Moore of Anahuac, Texas;Uncle Raymond and Aunt Sarah Antoine; Uncle Louis Antoine, and Aunt Gracie Victorian; mother of his children, Joann Rideau; and an adopted daughter, Kayla Rideau. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews and other cousins and friends.
