Lake Charles- Leo "Deek" Bradley, Sr., 91 passed away on Sunday, January 6, 2013 in a local hospital. He accepted Christ as his personal Savior at an early age and was baptized in Gold Dust, La. In the 50′s he relocated to Lake Charles, La. and united with Christian Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. W.C. Clark were he remain a faithful member until he was called home.

He was an Army veteran who served during World War II in Okinawa as a truck driver. After serving his country, he later joined the American Legion Post 55l. He was once recognized as the KPLC's Hometown Patriot on August 10, 2011. He later retired from the Port of Lake Charles after 30 plus years of service as a longshoreman. He was recently employed by the Calcasieu Parish School Board as a bus aide.
Brother Bradley faithfully served his church as a parking attendant and a member of the Board of Directors until his health failed him. He was a past member of the Gospel Choir, the Male Chorus and the Sanctuary Choir. He was a man that displayed quiet strengths and a great sense of humour. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and spending time with family and friends. Bro. Leo had a love for people and acquired friends from all walks of life, never meeting a stranger. He had a benevolent attitude expressing goodwill and kindness towards others. Often times Bro. Leo would mentor and inspire many people about their walk with Christ and life. Throughout his journey, Bro. Bradley traveled to Australia, New Guniea and the Philippines, just to name a few. Brother Leo Bradley, Sr. was a mighty man of God and a man of his word.
He leaves to cherish precious memories, four daughters; Brenda Ann, Brandy "Bootsie" (grand-daughter) both of Lake Charles, La., Elonda " Noosie" of Westlake, La. and Jerri "lil sista" of Houston, Texas, two sons; Leo, Jr. of Ville Platte, La., and Kenneth of Lake Charles, La.; four step-sons; Willie of Ville Platte, La., Jake, Terrilynn, and Joe all of Lake Charles, La.; three step-daughters Jacqueline of Alabama, Ruby and Elonda "baby Jerri"all of Lake Charles, La., one sister; Estelle Reynolds of Lake Charles, La., two brothers; Toes Bradley of Crosby, Texas and A.B. Bradley, Sr. of Houston, Texas, five grand-daughters; Tameka, Ingea, Courtney, Taylor all of Lake Charles, La. and Heavenly of Houston, Texas, four grandsons; Shannon, Brandon, Bryan and Taurean of Lake Charles, La., Great-grandsons; Josiah, Jeremiah, Jordan and Jayden and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
