Obituary

"Her kindness was her ministry. Her faith was her foundation. Her love was her legacy."

Leola Frazier, a beloved mother, grandmother, godmother, and friend, peacefully entered eternal rest on October 10, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 25, 1931, to Sir Walter and Alice Scott in Wisner, Louisiana, and throughout her remarkable life, she shared her heart, hands, and faith with everyone she met.

For over 60 years, Leola was a devoted member of the Christian Baptist Church, where she faithfully served and worshiped with joy. Her faith was unwavering, and her love for God radiated through her kind spirit, gentle smile, and compassionate heart. Her faith never wavered, even in life's most challenging moments. She believed deeply that love, prayer, and perseverance could overcome any storm. She found purpose in serving others and embodied the true meaning of Christian love.

Leola had a gift for making every person feel special. Her kitchen was often the gathering place for family, friends, and neighbors who came to enjoy her home-cooked meals and sweet baked treats. She was known for her delicious pies, hearty meals, and the way she poured love into every dish. Cooking and baking were her way of showing care, and she delighted in feeding the body and soul.

But Leola's greatest gift was the way she touched lives. As a godmother to many children, she became a guiding light in countless young lives, offering wisdom, prayer, and unconditional love. To her family, she was the glue that held generations together. To her friends, she was a confidante. To her community, she was a pillar of faith and grace.

Leola was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, son, John Wayne Frazier, godson, Keith Heckard, and husband of 68 years, Archie Frazier.

She leaves to cherish her precious memory Emma Scott and Sallie Ann Eldridge of California, Bertha Davis of Illinois, Ollie Bell of Texas, Archie and Elizabeth Heckard of Louisiana; along with her cherished grandchildren, Monica (Mike) Boston, Michelle Frazier, Marious (Jacqueline) Frazier. Bonus grandchildren, Kevin (Selena), Heckard and Kelli (Curtis) McWashington; great grandchildren, Jonathan, Jasmine, KT, Deonte, Keila, and Darious. Godchildren, Patrick Broussard, Kimberlie Heckard, Stacy Mayo, Jerrol Wilson, Deasotoe Jackson; and a host of nieces, nephews, church family, and dear friends who will forever hold her in their hearts.

Even in her final days, Leola's faith remained her anchor. She spoke often of God's goodness and the beauty of Heaven that awaited her. She faced life's sunset with the same calm grace that had carried her through every dawn.

Though her physical presence will be deeply missed, her spirit will forever remain in her grandchildren's laughter, the flowers that bloom each spring, and the recipes passed down through generations. Her legacy lives on in love, faith, and every life she has touched.

Her visitation will be Friday, October 24, 2025 from 9:00 A.M. with her funeral following at 11:00 A.M. at Christian Baptist Church located at 202 North Franklin Street in Lake Charles, Pastor Edward Alexander will officiate. Burial will be in Combre Memorial Park under the direction of Combre Funeral Home

"Well done, thou good and faithful servant: enter into the joy of thy Lord."
