Lester J. Malveaux, 89, was born on May 9, 1925, in Plaisance, La., to the union of the late Lucius Malveaux Sr.. and Alice Young Malveaux. He departed his earthly life at his home on Friday, Feb. 20, 2015.
He completed his elementary education in the Plaisance School System. He then worked the family farm through his teenage years and as an adult he worked the construction industry between Louisiana and Texas. Lester moved to Lake Charles in 1959 and worked as a laborer, lastly as an equipment operator with 25 years of service with Reynolds Metals, now known as Alcoa Industries. He was baptized in the Catholic faith in Plaisance, La., and later joined Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish where he was a member until his death. He was first initiated into the Knights of Peter Claver Holy Ghost Catholic Church, Opelousas, La., then transferred to KPC Court #141, Immaculate Heart of Mary where he was a 50-year member and a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Holy Name Society. Lester was an avid fisherman, hunter, gardener, landscaper and "mister fix it."
He was preceded in death by his parents; and four brothers, Joseph Preston Malveaux, Lucius Sr., David and Emile Malveau; three sisters, Louise Bertrand, Rose Anna Brown and Alice Durouso.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 48 years, Rose Semien Malveaux of Lake Charles, La.; one daughter, Shaloma Malveaux of Baton Rouge, La.; and grand-dog, Tyson; four sisters, Albertha Malveau of Plaisance, La., Mary Jane (Paul) Thomas and Lonnie Fontenot of Lake Charles, La., Margaret Eaglin of Port Arthur, Texas; one brother, Antoine Malveaux of Lawton, Okla.; six godchildren, Jacinthia Malveaux Malbroux, April Brown, Kermitt Thomas, Albertha Malveau, Martin Seemien and Stephen Duriseau; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, friends and his special friends young and old.

SERVICE INFORMATION
Service date: February 26, 2015
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 26, 2015, in Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Mausoleum, under the direction of Combre Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 8-11:40 a.m. in Combre Funeral Home.
