Obituary

On June 14, 1914 Letha Jones Simon Scott was born in Bell City, Louisiana to the late Jake and Loney Jones. At an early age, she was baptized in Bell City, Louisiana.

After Mrs. Letha moved to Lake Charles, she became a faithful member of Old Emmanuel Church where she served as an usher. Later in life she became a member of United Christian Fellowship under the leadership of Pastor Ronald L. Mayo until her passing.

In 1939 she united in Holy Matrimony to Talton Simon.  Later in life she married Link Scott.

She leaves to cherish her memories five daughters Hazel Williams, Betty (Rev. Johnnie) Wilkins, Jr., Mary (Floyd) Buchanan, Frankie Rankins, and Gracie (Arthur) Roane Anderson all of Lake Charles, Louisiana; two sons Navy Simon all of Lake Charles, Louisiana and Elton Simon of Houston, Texas.

She also leaves to cherish her memories thirty-two grandchildren, sixty-one great-grandchildren, and twenty-eight great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Letha was preceded in death by both husbands Talton Simon and Link Scott; two sons Ernest and James Simon; two daughters Lillie Mae Simon Victorian and Mildred Simon.

Known as Mama Letha, she was loved and cherished by many people.
