Beloved wife, mother, and sister, Linda Mae Parks passed away on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 surrounded by her family. She was born on June 9, 1951 to Perkin Joseph and Bonnie Mae Richard Malveaux in Lake Charles, Louisiana. She was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church.
Linda attended Sacred Heart Catholic School where she obtained her primary and secondary education and was a 1968 graduate of Lake Charles High School. After completing secretarial training at Sowela Technical Institute, she pursued a career as a professional secretary possessing impeccable grammar, stenography and typing skills.
She retired after 25 years of service as a secretary in the Health and Human Performance Department of the Burton College of Education at McNeese State University in 2013.
Linda will be most remembered for her caregiving nature, devotion to her family, love for baking and cats and her insatiable passion for decorating. She was a meticulous homemaker and faithful in the practice of the religious and cultural traditions of her ancestry.
She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved husband of 46 years, Dean H. Parks, two sons, Clinnon T. Parks and Joshua C. Parks, father-in-law, William Parks, two brothers, Perkin D. Malveaux, Jr. (Elizabeth), John K. Malveaux (Patsy), two sisters, Julie A. Malveaux Ellis and Lisa M. Malveaux,one sister-in-law, Nancy Nisby, as well as a host of neices, nephews, family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Perkin Joseph and Bonnie Mae Richard Malveaux and mother-in-law, Lillian Parks.
