Lionel Joseph Darbonne Jr. better known as "White Boy" was born to the union of Lionel Sr. and Laurence Darbonne on August 12, 1962 in Lake Charles, La.

Lionel was known for his love of family, basketball, and kids. All kids were his as he was affectionately known as Dad, Uncle, Paw-Paw, Brother, Son, and Coach. He truly embraced the phrase "No Child Left Behind"! He took them all with no questions asked or hesitation. His big personality and love for life attracted people everywhere he went, he never met a stranger. Lionel departed this earthly life on November 21, 2022. He was surrounded by the love of his family and many friends.

His family was his pride and joy! Lionel was joined in holy matrimony to Veronica Smith. Lionel leaves to cherish his memories and carry on his legacy his two children Lionel Jacoby Rubin, Britta Ceasar along with Latonya Carter Smith, Michael and Mark(Diane) Carter. Bonus children Dominic & Brittany Withers and Angela & Brandon Smith. Parents Lionel & Laurence Darbonne. In-laws Joshua & Mary Smith Four siblings Catherine(Ray) Malbrough, Barbara(Gerard) Prejean, Michael Darbonne, David(Jennifer)Darbonne, 18 beautiful grandchildren who had every piece of his heart, 2 godsons, host of nieces and nephews, in-laws, relatives and friends. His two ride or die, and stayed with him til the very end pushing him friends, Eddie White and Ted Thomas. His always over-protective and high sheriff sister-in law Erica Smith.

Lionel will be missed by so many but has left a loving, fighting spirit for us all to follow. His favorite was the Serenity prayer: God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference.
