Reverend Lionel Clifton Green

Reverend Lionel Clifton Green, a man of boundless love,
unshakable faith, and an unforgettable smile, passed peacefully
into the arms of his Savior on January 16, 2025 at the age of 73.
Born in Lake Charles, Louisiana to Paul Young and Lucress
Green, he was lovingly reared in Moss Bluff. Lionel cherished his
roots and the community that shaped him and never forgot
where he was from! He married his true love, Betty Hickman in 1971.

He was a proud veteran of the United States Army, where he
served his country with honor and dedication. However, his
greatest pride and joy came from being a devoted family man.
His daughters were the light of his life, and he celebrated their
accomplishments, big and small, with unmatched enthusiasm. He
also cherished his beloved son, who carries on his name.
A man of profound faith, Lionel answered the call to ministry,
serving the church and his community with a heart full of
compassion and unwavering dedication. His sermons were filled
with wisdom and hope, and his presence brought comfort to
those in need. Lionel's ministry was not confined to the pulpit-
he lived his faith daily, embodying kindness, generosity, and love
Truly, his most cherished and profound relationship was with
God and the church, which he served with all his heart.
