IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lionel Bickham
Jr.
August 22, 1976 – October 21, 2018
Lionel Bickham, Jr, aka "Money" was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on August 22, 1976 to the late Lionel Bickham Sr. and Pamela West. He was the eldest of two children. Lionel finished his schooling in the Orleans Parish School District.
Throughout his adolescent years, he developed a multitude of friendships that he valued to the end of his brief life. Lionel was known as a diehard S aints F an and he let it be known to everyone he encountered. He was also known for his love for food, second lines and making people laugh. His hobbies were cooking, eating, frequent visits to his favorite eatery-Chinese Kitchen and watching the football games. But what he enjoyed the most was spending time with his family and friends.
He was the ultimate joker amongst his cousins and often bragged about being both of his grandmothers' favorite grandchild. When the family gathered everyone looked forward to seeing his smile come through the door, and knew it would be a great time because Money was there. He leaves so many unforgettable memories with his family.
After college, Lionel started his new beginning in Lake Charles, Louisiana where he met and married his wife, Tamica Pinkney. Their union brought together 5 sons whom they love dearly. While living in Lake Charles, Money began to spread his New Orleans flavor and lifestyle of the "Who Dat Nation" to whomever he met. Even though he developed a multitude of friends while in Lake Charles, he had a close circle of devoted friends that he cherished as family and shared deep love for them.
In his work life he became a favorite with his coworkers at St. Martin DePorres, Oceans and Calcasieu Oaks where he worked 13 years collectively. Because of the closeness they shared, his coworkers became more like family. Lionel was a 'jack of all trades' on his jobs. He worked as a cook, in security, scalpel builder and ironman. He also held a culinary certification.
Lionel followed in his parents' entrepreneurships, and started his own business. He named his business, Bickham Lawn Rescue in tribute of his father's business Bickham Road Rescue. Lionel enjoyed frequent trips back home and traveling abroad by visiting places like Trinidad, Spain and Jamaica .
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lionel Sr and Pamela Bickham; his maternal grandparents, Nick and Bertha West.; and paternal grandparents, Joseph Dickson and Mary Bickham.
He leaves to cherish his loving wife of 5 years, Tamica Bickham of Lake Charles, Louisiana; five sons, Lionel, Marvin, Brandon, Quintory and Quan all of Lake Charles, Louisiana; only sister, Keil King (Curtis) of New Orleans, Louisiana; 2 grandchildren, Brooklyn Pinkney and Lacarter Pinkney; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
