Obituary

LAKE CHARLES Loris Perkins Guillory Bihm died at 8:45 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 2, 2016, at the Harbor Hospice Hospital.

On Dec. 18, 1915, Loris was born into this world through the union of her father Josiah (Joe) Perkins and her mother Eleanore (Leona) Fontenot in Mamou, La.

She was baptized and confirmed at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and continued her membership until her death. Early in life she married Curley Guillory with whom she bore five children. After his early passing, she later married Obrey Bihm.

She remained a faithful member of the church and was always seated near the front row. She was one of the first members of the Community Rosary Group. She was a person who loved going to Zydeco dances and the casino, when she could get a ride. She recently celebrated her 100th birthday receiving acknowledgements from the mayor of Lake Charles, the Lake Charles City Council, the State of Louisiana House of Representatives, Calcasieu Parish Sheriffs Dept. and from the President of the United States, President Barack Obama.

She mourned the death of her two husbands, Curley Guillory and Obrey Bihm. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Josiah and Eleanor (Leona) Perkins; her son, George Guillory; her brothers, Nacy, John, Larry, Maxine and Frank Perkins of Houston, Texas; her sisters, Eva Pitre, Rella Carlin and Shirley McIntyre; and her grandson, Joseph Guillory Jr.

Loris leaves to cherish her memories, her children, Wilfred (Yvonne) Guillory, Joseph "Boo" (Marlene) Guillory, Mary Jane Guillory, Margaret "Mary" (Rodney) Geyen; and step daughter, Gloria Bihm; her grandchildren, Charles (Linda) Wilkins; also called her son, Terryl (Sabrina) Guillory, Peter (Ann) Guillory, Paul Guillory, Gerard Geyen, Kelly Geyen, Terri, Geyen, Jackie (Charlie) Anderson, Patricia Guillory, Shelly Guillory; and a host of great and great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews; her favorite faithful sister-in-law, Clemus Perkins; and a host of relatives and friends.

She was well known by family, friends, grandchildren, great-grands and great-great-grandchildren as moma, mother, momeaux, granny and mom; she was loved by everyone.

SERVICE INFORMATION

Service date: January 9, 2016

Visitation will be at Combre Funeral Home from 9 a.m.-11:45 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 9, 2016. Followed by funeral at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at noon. The Rev. Richard Uche Adiukwu, Administer will be the celebrant. A rosary will begin at 10:30 a.m., prayed by the Community Rosary Group. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of Combre Funeral Home.
