Louis "Blue"
Fontenot
April 4, 1925 – July 26, 2015
Blue was born April 4, 1925, in Grand Prairie, La., to his parents, the late Walton and Olivia Rideaux Fontenot. From the time he left school at the age of 8, Blue was a harder worker and travelled all over the world accomplishing goals that no one could imagine. He worked with Merchant Marine for 30 years, in the pipeline industry as an offshore man. Blue also worked for General Motors for 25 years, in the assembly line department. He was a self-business owner of multiple properties in Detroit, Mich. Blue was a parishioner of Mount Olive Baptist Church in Lake Charles. Most of all, he loved the time he spent with his family and grandchildren.
Blue is survived by his beloved former wife, Hilda Williams of Lake Charles, La.; two daughters, Carmenlita Fontenot of Birmingham, Ala., and Brigitte Knauer of Oakland, Calif.; his sister, Hazel Pete of Lake Charles, La.; his godchild, Jeanette Neal Pitts of Atlanta, Ga.; five grandchildren, Nicholas, Chelon and Marquise Fontenot of Birmingham, Ala., and Salvador S. and Joseph
D. Knauer of Oakland, Calif.; and numerous dear nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Rhonda Fontenot; two brothers, Sidney and Felmon Fontenot; six sisters, Hilda Guidry, Theresa Duhon, Audria Johnson, Euella Levy, Estelle Fontenot Ozen and Edolia Zachary.
Pallbearers will be Mark and Ross Jr. Guidry, James "Jimbo" Johnson and Larry, Chris and Kevin Pete.
Honorary Bearers are Chad Charles, Kirk Duhon, Eddie Parker, Nicholas, Chelon and Marquise Fontenot and Cleveland Levy Jr.

A Celebration of Life will be celebrated Saturday, Aug. 1, 2015, at 11 a.m. in Mount Olive Baptist Church in Lake Charles for Louis "Blue" Fontenot, 90, who passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 26, 2015, in Harbor Hospice in Lake Charles.Visitation will be observed on Saturday, Aug. 1, 2015, at 8 a.m. until the time of services, in Mount Olive Baptist Church in Lake Charles.Interment will follow in Combre Memorial Park in Lake Charles. The Rev. Braylon Harris, Pastor of Mount Olive Baptist Church in Lake Charles, will officiate.
