Rev. Louis Carroll Conway Jr., honorably discharged from the U.S. Army, departed this life on Monday, Jan. 12, 2015, at the age of 64. He was born on Jan. 21, 1950, in Lake Charles, La., to Louis Carroll Conway Sr. and Rose Mary White. He was best known by "Butch." He was a 1969 graduate of W.O. Boston High School.

Rev. Conway worked as a security guard at a local bank for several years. He was a devoted father, brother, uncle and grandfather. Rev. Conway was a faithful member and minister at New Jerusalem Baptist Church in Welsh, La.

He enjoyed family gatherings, barbecuing, playing dominoes and watching sports, especially the New Orleans Saints.

Rev. Conway was preceded in death by his parents, his daughters'' mother Gwendolyn Durst and former wife Sharon Conway.

His legacy and memory will continue through his daughters, Tasha M. Conway and Caronica R. Conway, both of Houston, Texas; son, Shannon Carmouche of Houston, Texas; brother, Bobby R. Conway Jr. (Joyce) of New Iberia; sister, Pamela Conway, also of Houston; fiancée, Virginia Harris; grandchildren, Adriuna Spivey, Adriand Spivey and To''Nyah McCorvey of Houston; two great-grandchildren, Jourdyn Bailey and Jaliya Bailey of Houston, Texas; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Service date: January 17, 2015

Funeral will be at 2:30pm Saturday, January 17, in New Jerusaleum Baptist in Welsh,La. Burial will be in Combre Memorial Park under the direction of Combre Funeral Home. Visitation is from 11:30 to 2:30 Saturday in the church.
