Louise Orphey Kaough also known as Black Gal, Pat, Smokie, Gigi as wellas Granny B'', was called home on November 26, 2014 at Hospice of Austin,Christopher House, in Austin, TX.
Mrs. Kaough was born on February 14, 1939 in Black Bayou, LA to the lateGilbert & Ella Breaux Orphey.
She was a life long resident of Lake Charles, La with a brief stay inAustin, TX. She gave her life to Christ at an early age and she was anactive member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Mrs. Kaoughdedicated her life to education and began her career with the Head Startprogram in Calcasieu Parish. After thirty-five years of service, sheretired in 2004. In 2006 she relocated to Austin, TX, where she workedat Austin Independent School District and East Side Story After SchoolCare.
Louise was married to the late Samuel Kaough.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, six sisters, DorothyGinyard, Beatrice Orphey, Irma Breaux, Elizabeth Reed, Doris Bilbo andVirgie Singleton, five brothers Robert, Lawrence, Larry, Gilbert andMilton Orphey, one grandson Gregory Fontenot, Jr. and ex-husband LeoFontenot.
Louise leaves her cherish memories and honor with her four children,Gregory Fontenot of Lake Charles, LA, three daughters Esther Malveaux ofLake Charles, LA., Shelia Fontenot of Katy, TX and Sandra (David) Jacobof Austin, TX. Three brothers, Wilson Orphey (Mary) and Howard Orphey,Sr. (Faye) of Houston, TX and Wilbert Orphey of Lake Charles, LA., tengrandchildren and nine great grandchildren and a host of nieces,nephews, in-laws, cousins and special friends.
SERVICE INFORMATION
Service date: December 6, 2014
Her funeral will be at 11am. Saturday, December 6, in Immaculate Heart of Mary Ctholic Church. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of Combre Funeral Home. Visitation is this evening from 6-9pm in Combre Funeral Home.
