Lucy was born on December 16, 1937 to the late Willie and Celestine Bushnell in Soileau, LA. Lucy was known to her family and friends as Lucille. Lucille was a faithful member of St. Henry Catholic Church until the time of her illness.

Lucille enjoyed planting flowers and making flower arrangements and listening to Zydeco music. Her greatest passion was the love that she had for her family (especially her only grandson Derrick) and her friends.

Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, George Carrier, her daughter, Deborah Ann Carrier, her parents Willie and Celestine Bushnell, her brothers, McZeal Bushnell and Willis Bushnell, her sister, Margie Simon.

Survivors include her daughter, Karen J Carrier and grandson, Derrick Paul McDowell both of Lake Charles, five sisters, Rita Mae Thomas of Lake Charles, Bertha Jean Ballard of Iowa, Willa Mae Goodwin of Houston, TX, Lillie Bushnell McKinney of Henderson, NV, and Helen Bushnell Morris of Lake Charles, a host of nieces and nephews and other special relatives and friends.

Funeral Services for Lucy Mae Carrier will be held on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Henry Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 8:30 to 10:40 a.m. with a Rosary at 9:30a.m.
