Obituary

Marceline J. Perry was born to the late Caleb and Beatrice Johnson on July 10, 1927 in New Orleans, Louisiana. She was the youngest of three children. She was united in holy matrimony to the late Theodore M. Perry on March 2, 1951. And to this union was born one son, Tony L. Perry. She departed this life on September 21, 2012. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Besty Mae, brother Ernette, and her husband of forty years.

She graduated from Morgan City Colored High School and was employed by the Calcasieu Parish School Board, and retired from Washington Marion High School in 1996. She was a charter member of the Bethel Metropolitan Fellowship Church where she was superintendent of the Sunday School Department. She was also a member of the Women's Missionary, the Mission Circle, and a Deaconess. And also a member of the church's Hospitality Committee.

She leaves to cherish her loving and precious memories, her son Tony, and two grandchildren whom she loved dearly, Dexter L. Perry and Destinee N. Perry. Her special niece Brenda Foster of Lake Charles,  Louisiana, her cousin Patricia Hales of New Orleans, Louisiana, her  sister-in-law Teresa Johnson of Detroit, Michigan, and a host of  nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Her funeral will be at 11am Wednesday, September 26, in Bethel Metropolitan Baptist Fellowship Church. The Rev. Clyde Lewis will officiate. Burial will be in Combre Memorial Park Cemetery under the directon of Combre Funeral Home. Visitation is from 10am Wednesday in the church.
