Marie "Mary" Brown, 79, died Saturday, July 11, 2015, at her Lake Charles home with her family by her side. She was born April 29, 1936, in Opelousas, La., to Elowishasand Semonia Taylor. Her life was dedicated to her family and taking care of others in the community. Mary was a 25-year member of the Ladies Auxiliary Court #141 and Christian Mothers.

Mary was preceded in death by her father, Elowishas Taylor; mother, Semonia Taylor; husband, Junius Brown; two sisters, Jeanette Pitre and Eva May Jackson; one brother, Joseph Taylor; and her grandparents.

Mary leaves to cherish her precious memories three daughters, Pamela Brown, Patricia Brown and Brenda Brown; and one son, Reginald Harris. To carry on her legacy of love, Jacinda Malveaux (Tariq), Jessica Brown, Kheelan Victorian, Khaleel Victorian and Ta''Kiren Clark-Harris.

Along with the aforementioned, she left three brothers, Simon Taylor, Harold (Gloria) Taylor and Alfred Taylor; five sisters, Mary Curry, Connie (Wilbert) Miller, Maudry Foster-Bracey and Linda Cooks; and a host of nieces, great-nieces, nephews, great-nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Service date: July 18, 2015

Funeral Mass will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church on Saturday, July 18, 2015, at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of Combre Funeral Home. Visitation will be at Combre Funeral Home before the Funeral Mass on Saturday, July 18, 2015, from 9-10:40 a.m.
