On October 7, 2012, the heavenly angels carried Marjorie Craven Guillory to her heavenly home. She was born September 3, 1926 in Mallet, Louisiana to the union of John Marcel Craven and Odelia Simon. After her mother died at an early age, Marjorie was raised by her grandmother Monique Craven and her father.
Marjorie was a resident of Lake Charles, Louisiana. She was a faithful member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church for many years before joining St. Henry Catholic Church where she has been a faithful member until her death.
She enjoyed gardening, shopping, ceramics, and making porcelain dolls. She and her husband Welton would set up booths at bazaars, flee markets, zydeco festivals, and Vermillionville, Louisiana to sell her ceramics and porcelain dolls.
She loved people and visiting on the phone with family and friends. She enjoyed having company. She was a very loving, happy, and people person. She loved cooking for company and especially when family was coming for that special Sunday or holiday meal.
Cherishing her memories are one daughter Joyce Marie Guillory Lefrere (Ronald) of Lake Charles, Louisiana; four sons Earl Guillory, Michael Guillory (Henrietta), Gerald Guillory (Patricia), all of Lake Charles, Louisiana and David Paul Guillory (Yolanda) of Houston, Texas. One brother Landis Craven (Mary) of Texas City, Texas; one sister Elmae Davis (Reese) of Centreville, Illinois; 17 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband Welton Guillory; parents John and Odelia Craven, three sisters Selma St. André, Mary Ann Craven, and Verna Andrews; two brothers John Craven and Joseph Carriere; and two grandchildren Iesha Guillory and Ron Anthony Lefrere.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
