Mary L. Guidry affectionately known as "Ticky" was born in Sunset, Louisiana on July 6, 1937, to Florence and Youla Milton. She departed this life on January 15, 2022.

Mary was united in marriage to Norris Guidry in 1968 and from this union Demetrius John Guidry was born.

Mary attended Calcasieu Parish public schools and continued her education at Frank Beauty school in Lake Charles where she graduated as a cosmetologist. Throughout the years, Mary worked at Boise Southern Cascade and Hercules. However, she is most notably known for her beautician skills where she served the entire community of Vinton.

Mary, a devout Christian, and prayer warrior was a member of St. Joseph Catholic church; where she served as an eucharist minister, member of Catholic Daughters, and educator in the Catholic Christian Doctrine (CCD).

Mary was "one of a kind," she had an enormous personality and never met a stranger. She had an innate ability to bring comfort to others and because of this people gravitated towards her. She was kind, giving, and made a lasting impression on all those that she met. Mary loved spending time with loved ones, cooking, and listening to "Zydeco and Blues." She was also known for her "flare for fashion."

Mary was preceded in death by her parents Florence and Youla Milton, two sisters Leona St. Julien and Elaine M. Milton and four brothers Joseph L. Milton, James E. Milton, Peter "Roy" Milton, and Lawrence "John" Milton.

Mary leaves to cherish her precious memories a devoted son Demetrius John Guidry of Vinton, Louisiana, three sisters Clayona Pillette, Eola Chavis both of Orange, Texas, and Emma Broussard of Vinton, Louisiana, three sisters-in-law Ruby Milton, Blanche Milton both of Vinton, Louisiana, and Veronica Milton of Sulphur, Louisiana. Also, she leaves a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and cherished friends.
