Mary Alice
Lavergne
Jul 9, 1951 — Jul 12, 2026
Iowa, Louisiana
Mary Alice Lavergne entered this earthly life on July 9, 1951, in Leonville, LA to Adam and Josephine (Mayon) Clark. She went peacefully to her heavenly home on July 12, 2026, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by close family.
Mary was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, cousin, and friend. She touched the lives of everyone who knew her through her kindness, compassion, and unwavering faith. Her greatest joy was spending time with her beloved grandchildren, creating treasured memories that will live forever in their hearts.
A woman of deep faith, Mary found comfort and strength in reading her Bible and in faithfully participating in prayer groups. Her relationship with God guided her life, and she inspired others with her gentle spirit, encouraging words, and caring heart.
Mary will be remembered for the love she shared, the faith she lived by, and the warmth she brought to her family and friends. Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy of love, faith, and devotion will endure in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
She leaves behind a family who loved her dearly and countless friends whose lives were enriched by her presence. May she rest in the eternal peace of God's loving embrace.
Mary Alice Lavergne was preceded in death by her parents, Adam, and Josephine (Mayon) Clark; her daughter, Tyra Lavergne; her sisters, Gloria Kelly, and Mary Ann Chevis; and her brothers, James Clark and Lee Albert Clark.
Mary leaves to cherish her precious memory of her loving husband of fifty-four years, John Wilton Lavergne; her children, Michael Dale Lavergne (Canisa) of Virginia Beach, VA; Joseph Wilton Lavergne (Sheryl); Adam Matthew Lavergne Sr. (Amanda); John Paul Lavergne (Donella); James Wilson Lavergne; and Daniel Ray Lavergne (RaShonee) all of Iowa, LA; her sister, Shirley Leday (Gary); sixteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, a nephew, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.
