Mary Ann Leger, died on July 29, 2016, in a local hospital
Mary Ann Leger was born October 3, 1935 to Leonce and Lillian Jolivette in Grand Coteau, Louisiana. Mary Ann was a loving, kind and caring person to everyone. She never met a stranger. She loved cooking and if there was a time you were hungry, her home was the place to go. She always made time to do something for someone else. Mary Ann accepted Christ at an early age. She attended Holy Ghost Church in Opelousas, Louisiana before moving to Lake Charles and becoming a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. She worked at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church with Father Schuster for many years. Later she became a bus driver for Calcasieu Parish School Board, where she retired after several years. On September 20, 1953, she married the love of her life George Leger. They shared sixty-three years of marriage and to this union four children were born.
Left to cherish her memories is her husband, George Leger; one daughter, Joyce Fontenot; one son, Ray Anthony Leger (Lisa); one daughter-in-law, Mattie Leger, all of Lake Charles, Louisiana; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Leonce and Lillian Jolivette; daughter, Lillian Faith; son Jerome; daughter-in-law Melinda; brothers Matthew, Edward, and Sylvan; and one sister, Rose Cormier.
SERVICE INFORMATION
Service date: August 5, 2016
Visitation will be Friday August 5, 2016 from 8:30 A.M. to 10:40 A.M. in Combre Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral will be Friday August 5, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at Immaculate Heart Of Mary Catholic Church. Burial will be in Consolata Cemtery under the Direction of Combre Funeral Home.
