LAKE CHARLES Mary "Margaret" Malone, 77, died at 7:45 a.m. Thursday, July 9, 2015, in Lake Charles Memorial Hospital.

She was native of Opelousas, La., and lived in Lake Charles for 56 years. She was a retired CNA at St. Patrick''s Hospital where she was employed for 25+ years. She enjoyed baking, cooking and spending time with family and friends. Mary Margaret was baptized at an early age in Opelousas, La., and was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church for more than 50 years under the pastoral leadership of the Rev. Timothy Goodly and the Rev. Marcus Johnson.

Mary Margaret was proceeded in death by her husband of 57 years, George Malone Jr.; her parents, Zack Richard and Leona Sam; and sister, Julia Bertrand.

Mary Margaret is survived by two sons, Donald Malone (Gretchen) of Lake Charles, and George Malone (Yolawnde) of DeSoto, Texas; two daughters, Romona Guillory (Greg) and Leona Malone, both of Lake Charles;three brothers, Zack Richard (Barbara) of Lake Charles, Albert Richard (Hilda) and Charles Richard (Edith), both of Opelousas; four sisters, Betty Stevens, Maudry Alfred (Bob) and Rose Greene (Marion), all of Lake Charles, and Shirley Smith (Dwain) of Houston, Texas; seven grandchildren, Adrian, Greg Jr., Martina, Lindsay, Alexis, Chandler and Joshua; one great-grandchild, Amare''.

Services for Mary Margaret Malone are July 15, 2015, at 11 a.m. in Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 2031 Opelousas Street, Lake Charles, LA 70601. Visitation is July 15, 2015, 8:30 a.m.-10:40 a.m. with a rosary starting at 8:30 a.m. in Combre Funeral Home, 1200 Mill Street, Lake Charles, LA 70601. The Rev. Timothy Goodly and Deacon Charles Richard will officiate and burial will be in Combre Memorial Park under the direction of Combre Funeral Home.
