Mary "Pap" Joseph, 73, of Lake Charles, La., departed this life Saturday, Nov. 26, 2016, in a local hospital. Mary was born Aug. 13, 1943, in Lake Charles, La.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Felton Joseph and Estelle Joseph Cartwright; her son, Roy Joseph; and sisters, Willie Dean Tucker and Jessie R. Gladney.

Those left to cherish her memory include three sons, Gregory Joseph, Brett Joseph and Pernell (Aretta) Alexander Sr.; one daughter, Cheryl Leopold-Johnson; one sister, Annie Williams-Fontenot (Clarence) of Lake Charles; 12 grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Service date: December 3, 2016

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 3, 2016, at 11 a.m. at New Covenant Faith Baptist Church, 2233 12th St., Lake Charles. Pastor Jimmy R. Stevens will officiate.
