Lake Charles - Mary Lou Roberts, 86, died at 2:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 23, 2014, at Lake Charles Care Center.

She was a native of Arnaudville, Louisiana and had lived in Lake Charles approximately 52 years. She was a hard worker raising 8 children and 6 grandchildren.

Survivors include two daughters, Bernita Roberts-Guillory (Michael) and Cora Evans of Lake Charles; four sons, Colvin Roberts and Buford Roberts of Lake Charles; Joseph Roberts and Perry Roberts of Seattle Washington; a special grandson, Lynn, of Katy, Texas; 19 other grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her parents, Edna Jones Sam and Roger Sam; husband, Landrus Roberts, Sr.; son, Landrus Roberts, Jr.; daughter, Wyneita Ann Roberts; two brothers, Roger and Doris Sam.

Viewing of the body will be from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Combre Funeral Home in Lake Charles. Rev. Marvin Durgan will officiate from 11:00 a.m. to 12 noon at the funeral home.
