Mary Eva Pete was born on Nov. 15, 1931, in Lake Charles, La., to the union of Mr. and Mrs. Perrie Zede (Bud) Mary Latour Pete.
On Nov. 18, 1949, she was united in holy matrimony to Gus W. Tousaint, and to this union five children were born. Mary was a faithful member of Zion Temple Baptist Church.On the morning of Feb. 23, 2014, Mary was called home to glory.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one daughter; one granddaughter; and 16 siblings.
She leaves to cherish her memory one son, John (Loretta) Tousaint Sr.; three daughters, Ora Pappion, Patricia (Elliot) Bushnell and Bridgette (Darnell) Williams, all of Lake Charles, La.; honorary daughter, Doris (John) Lambert of Humble, Texas; one sister, Madora Bryant; 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, godchildren, relatives and friends.
Her service will be Saturday, March 1, 2014, at Zion Temple Baptist Church, 226 Predium Rd, Lake Charles - Pastor F. Davis. Visitation will be 10 a.m.-12 p.m. and funeral begins at 12 p.m. The Rev. James F. Davis will officiate. Burial will be at Combre Memorial Park, under the direction of Combre Funeral Home.
