Obituary

Maudry Mae Guilory Miller was born on March 1, 1951, to Joe Guillory and Bella Moore Guillory in Iowa, Louisiana.

Maudry devoted her life to Christ at a very young age, first as a Jehovah's Witness and later she converted to the Baptist Faith and became a member of Zion Travelers Baptist Church of Iowa, Louisiana, New Faith Baptist Church of Lake Charles, Louisiana and upon her death she was a member of Zion Tabernacle Baptist Church, Lake Charles, Louisiana under the leadership of Pastor Alvin Brass.

Maudry's zeal for the word of God eventually led her to become a member of the Women's Ministry, the SALT Ministry and she taught Sunday school to the Women's Class. Maudry's  life's journey was defined by a passion for caring for and healing others. For over 40 years, she devoted her life to the noble profession of nursing, touching countless lives with her kindness, expertise, and unwavering compassion. Her tireless efforts and the comfort she provided to those in need earned for her the profound respect of her colleagues and the gratitude of her patients.

Her greatest passion in life was for the love and care of her husband, her children and grandchildren.

Maudry leaves to mourn her passing, her husband of 56 years, Melvin Miller, two daughters, Melva Jeanise Lonon (Widow of William F. Lonon) and Shinette L. Amoh (husband Freddie Amoh) and one son, Derek W. Miller (Wife Jennifer). She also leaves to cherish her memories, three granddaughters, Ebonie Jones (husband Nathan) of Woodbridge, Virginia, Dorian L. Lonon of Lake Charles, Louisiana and Afia Amoh of Woodbridge, Virginia; three sisters, JoAnn Jackson and Mary Guillory both of Lake Charles, Louisiana. and Audrey Williams of Baytown, Texas. Sisters-in-Law Rose Marie Guillory, Elaine Guillory and Lois Stevens all of Lake Charles, LA and Willa Mae Thomas of Stockton, California, one Brother-in-Law, Louis Miller Sr. of Lake Charles, La. Maudry is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Her visitation will be Saturday, May 10, 2025 from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. with funeral following at 11:00 A.M. in Zion Tabernacle Baptist Church under the direction of Combre Funeral Home.
