Melores Vallair Richard transitioned this life and entered eternal rest on Friday, November 24,2023 with family in  Opelousas, LA.  Melores Vallair Richard was born on November 24,1943, to Carlton Vallair and Julia Kennerson Vallair in Leonville, LA.

Melores accepted Christ at an early age, at Holy Ghost Catholic Church. She attended school in Arnaudville, LA. She moved to Lake Charles, LA and married Joseph Richard. Melores was a proud member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church where she was a member of the choir. She worked and retired from LCMH Dietary Dept. Melores loved to cook and feed many people. She touched everyone with her smile, her laugh, and her love. Her hobbies included sewing, traveling, playing cards, and Raylon got her into fishing. Raylon was her bonus child and they have been in separable since day one. Raylon gave her the name Yo Yo and that name has stuck with her until the end.

Melores leaves to cherish her memories, Goddaughter, Shawn (Larry) Ceril-Lavergne, Raylon Ceril her pride and joy, 2 sisters Betty Roberts, Julia Young 2 brothers Marshall Vallair, Mitchell Vallair, 1 sister-in-law Mary (Richard) Richard-Land. God children, Shelia Davis, June Kennerson, Patricia Major Housley, LaShawnda Kennerson and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Carlton Vallair and Julia Kennerson Valliar, her husband, Joseph Richard, 3 brothers two sisters.
