Melvola Ardoin Jason, 87 was born on August 11, 1935, to the late T.B. & Ophelia Ardoin in Ville Platte, Louisiana. She was one of six children to this union. She departed from this life on June 9, 2023 at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital.

Melvola attended James Stephen Negro Elementary School with completion of the eighth grade. She accepted Christ as her Lord & Saviour at an early age. She was baptized at Nineth Baptist Church in Ville Platte, Louisiana. She was married to the late Melvin Jason of Ville' Platte, Louisiana for thirty-seven years. Preciously, to this union seven children were born.

Later, she moved to Lake Charles, Louisiana where her family grew. She was a soft-spoken devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt & friend, who was loved by all. Her nieces, nephews & others referred to her as "NAN TUT." Sewing, gardening, planting, cooking and baking were just a few of her pass time. Also, she enjoyed crabbing with her children, sisters, nieces and nephews. Melvola rededicated her life to Christ and joined Christian Baptist Church on November 11, 1984. It's there she attended, fellowshipped and worshipped until her death.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories: four daughters, Alzena (Donald) Poole, Wennifred Harvey of Houston, Texas, Cynthia McClemore of Pasadena, Texas; Veronica (Laundry) Jack of Lake Charles, Louisiana. Twelve grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, & two great great grandchildren. One Godson, Leander Ardoin. A host of nieces, nephews, friends & relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, T.B. & Ophelia Ardoin; three children, Carlene Ann Jason, Leonard Jason & Gwendolyn Foote; two brothers, Calvin Ardoin, Landris Ardoin; three sisters, Lena Williams, Mary Ardoin & Alverta Ardoin.
