Mercedes DeVille Thibodeaux, "Mama Merce" was born July 8, 1924 to the union of Arthur DeVille and Maude Berry DeVille in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Her hobbies included cooking, occasional casino outings, watching the news, talking on the phone and spending time with family. Mama Merce was a loving and devoted wife to Adjuston Thibodeaux for 42 years.
Mercedes was preceded in death by her husband, Adjuston Thibodeaux. Parents, Arthur
Deville, Sr. and Maude Berry DeVille. Brothers Arthur DeVille, Jr. and Aloysius Brady "A.B." DeVille.
She is survived by her daughters, Judy Pappillion August (Warren) and Mary Jane Pappillion Ramos (Max); sons, Adrian Thibodeaux (Karen) and Michael Thibodeaux; sister Theresa DeVille, brothers Emille DeVille and Paul "P.J." DeVille. 13 grandchildren: Rayford, Lanore, Craig, (Judy); Yolanda, Max, Aaron, Michael, (Mary Jane); Tamara, Kayla, (Adrian & Karen); Reymond Cobb, Shoneka Cobb (Karen); Jazmen, Lanna, (Michael). 11 great-grandchildren: Jeffery, Hillary, Nicholas, (Lanore); Juliet, Justine, (Craig and Rachel); Marlynia, Symphony, Nathaniel, Brandon, Asa, (Yolanda); Lilly (Jazmin); 5 great-great grandchildren: Nylah, Denzel, (Hillary); Alexia (Marlana); Ryan (Nathaniel); Zion (Brandon).
