Mildred Yvonne Nash Flowers was born on Saturday, June 11, 1938 to the late Hillary (Sweet) and Lillie Bell Nash, and reared in a Christian home.  She peacefully transitioned from her earthly home to her heavenly home surrounded by family on Friday, March 26, 2021 at the residence of her brother and sister in law home, Alce John and Neva G. Nash.  A blessing to the family while their home is being repaired from the storms.

She graduated from Lincoln High School in Morrow, Louisiana; she was  baptized at an early age by Reverend C.D. Woods at St. Luke Baptist Church in Morrow, Louisiana.  In 1959 she moved to Lake Charles, Louisiana where she was a faithful member for over forty-five years at Mount Calvary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend Horace C. Allison and until her death Pastor Elmore L. Garner.  She was preceded in death by her husband John B. Flowers; her parents Hillary Sr and Lillie Bell Nash; her sister Margie Nash Williams, her brothers, Taylor Nash, and Hillary Nash II.

Mildred was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend.  She leaves to cherish precious memories her two daughters:  Kassandra Ezette Flowers Simmons (Johnnie Simmons Jr) of Katy, Texas, Angelia Mechelle Flowers Rougeau of Lake Charles, La, one grandson Isaiah Jamal Flowers-Simmons of Katy, Texas, and granddog "Toby" of Katy, Texas, one brother Alce (John Nash) and sister-in-law Neva Gastille Nash of Lake Charles, La, a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and close family friends.

She was also blessed to have several neighborhood/honorary daughters…Susan, Rosemary, Joyce, Gail, Faye, Lilly Rose, Doris, Sheila Ann, Linda, Gail, Zee, Rene, Tickie, Wendy Cat, and Connie Poo.  Adopted grandchildren Faith, Norman, and Adriana.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations would be made to: Jones-Allison Family Life Center at Mount Calvary Baptist Church, or Mount Calvary Baptist Church Scholarship Fund.
