IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Millard Daniel
Guillory
October 26, 1953 – January 28, 2020
Danny Guillory died January 28, 2020, at his home in Lake Charles, LA. He was 66.
Born October 26, 1953 in Lake Charles, LA to Jimmie C. and Augustine Guillory. Danny was a sports fanatic all his life and was a die hard Raiders fan. If he wasn't on the golf course he was working with his hands in some fashion either building a project for his wife or fixing or repairing something.
He was a coach to many, golfing partner to some, handyman/repair man, devoted van driver, and usher. He always had a long story with a lesson built in. These stories were always followed up by his own experiences to drive home the story. His stories were drawn out and always with jokes, all while taking a puff on his favorite cigar and drinking a diet coke. If you had an ear to listen, he would tell you all about his children's and grandchildren's accomplishments.
He coached little league, was a boy scout leader, an avid bowler, fisherman, played softball along with family and friends for the Sun Devils softball team and spent his later years enjoying the game of golf.
Danny worked for ConocoPhillips for almost 20 years where he was an operator and an active affiliate of the United Way campaign over 15 years. He was instrumental in starting the company's Annual Golf tournament that just celebrated it's 10 th anniversary last year. After his retirement from ConocoPhillips he went to work for United Christian Fellowship church as a groundskeeper/maintenance personnel. Prior to his employment at UCF he was a long time member at UCF where he served as a devoted van driver and usher.
In his later years, lung cancer robbed him of his strength and stamina. During this time, he fought a good fight to the end and is now reunited with his daughter in heaven.
His memory will be cherished and kept alive by his adoring wife, Sharon Marie Guillory; children Antoinette Rene' Harris, Adrianna Michelle Guillory and Alexis Rachelle Guillory-Thomas (Kendale Thomas), his five grandchildren, one great grandchild and his sister Cynthia Marie Fontenot ( Gerard Fontenot), brother Gilbert Demerse Guillory and along with many nieces and nephews he loved dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Angelic Marie Guillory-Beroit, and brothers Michael James Guillory, Francis Maurice Guillory, Edward Mosley Guillory, Marshall Willard Guillory and sister Mary Laura Jones.
Danny will forever be remembered as the Raider gear wearing, Ice-T lookalike, slick talking, long ponytail having, kangol wearing, force to be reckoned with on the baseball field, Star Trek loving, M.A.S.H tv show expert, cat obsessed, long winded story teller, head strong, jack of all trades, bar-b-queing/crawfish boiling/turkey fryer expert (in his eyes), cartoon loving, Happy Feet crier, advice giver, van driver, ministry house working, grass cutting, diet coke drinking, cigar toting, compassionate, caring, humorous, and did we say long-winded man that will missed dearly.
