Minnie Ola Scott Fontenot, 95, of Lake Charles, LA transitioned from this earthly life to her heavenly home at 5:44 a.m. on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at her residence.

She was born on October 5, 1927, to the late Mack Luther and Annie Combs Scott of Homer, LA. She was one of the late eight children: five sisters and three brothers. Mack Henry Scott of Homer, LA, James Scott of Lufkin, TX, William "Willie" Scott of Oklahoma City, OK, Mabel Scott Ivory of Minden, LA, Azzie Lee Scott Norton Woods of Homer, LA, Annie Mae Scott Sullivan of Cullen, LA, and Marzella Scott Garrett of California.

She is preceded in death by her late husband, Jerry Fontenot Sr.; her daughters, Geraldine Fontenot Trent, and Brenda Fontenot Robinson; her son-in-law, Anthony Guillory; and grandson, Martin Guillory.

Cherishing her memories is her daughter, Joyce Fontenot Guillory of Houston, TX; two sons, Michael (Janet) Fontenot and Jerry (Jackie) Fontenot, both of Lake Charles, LA; son-in-law, George Robinson; and her nieces and nephews.

She will be dearly missed by her grandkids, Toni Guillory, Michelle Guillory, and LaShawn Finley, all of Houston, TX, Michelle Rolax, Jasmine Fontenot Rougeau, and Jessica Fontenot, all of Lake Charles, LA, Tommie Fontenot of Lake Charles and Michael Fontenot of Bunkie, LA.

Ms. Fontenot will truly be remembered as a loving mother who was always there to support her family. She loved unconditionally and taught her family many life lessons that they will cherish. She always made time to listen to every one of them and made each one feel special. She was always full of life and will greatly be missed. Helping people was truly her passion.
