Moise Tezeno, Sr., 89, was born to the late Alcee and Julia Tezeno in Grand Prairie, Louisiana. He was the fourth child of ten children. He accepted Christ at an early age. Moise grew up in Grand Prairie and then moved to Plaisance, Louisiana where he attended St. Joseph Catholic Church. Moise met and married Theresa Guillory in 1944 and later moved his family to Lake Charles and became a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.

Moise enjoyed riding horses and going to the zydecos. He was a farmer, Honorary Sheriff in Washington, Louisiana, and owned a bar in LeBeau, Louisiana. After moving to Lake Charles, Moise worked for the City of Lake Charles and later became employed with and retired from Matlack Truck and Company. Moise enjoyed family gatherings and would always call his family over to eat something he had cooked.

Cherishing his memories are six daughters, Rita Booker (late Dr. James Booker) of Lincoln, California, Julia Tezeno of Lake Charles, Louisiana, Gilda Forté (Ulycess) of Slidell, Louisiana, Donna Avery (Marceles) of Woodland, Texas, Christina Tezeno of Jackson, Louisiana, Pamela Baker (Ronald, Sr.) of Memphis, Tennessee. Six sons, Lionel, Moise, Jr. (Patricia) of Iowa, Louisiana, Warren (Sherral) of Mamou, Louisiana, David Wayne of Lake Charles, Antonio Tezeno of Iowa, Louisiana, and John Alton (Larren) of Topsy, Louisiana. One sister, Mary and brother, Alcee both of Opelousas, Louisiana. Twenty-five grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Moise was preceded in death by his wife, Theresa Guillory Tezeno,  parents, Alcee and Julia Tezeno; son, Lionel; three sisters, Angelica, Audry, and Augustine; four brothers Arthur, Marshall, Eldridge, and Ellis; and one stepbrother, Wesley.

Moise will be truly missed!
