On November 7, 2017 at 10:20 PM, God dispatched his angels for his sweet servant Nicholas Henri' Clark. The Angelic Choir sang Hallelujah welcoming one of their own.
Nicholas was the second child born to the union of Richard Clark Jr. and Carla Webb Clark on September 25, 1988. He had one devoted sister, Ashley Nicole Clark which he cherished.
Nicholas graduated from AM Barbe High School, where for a short time he participated in the Band of Blue. He was so excited when he was crowned Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. "Mr. Beautillion". He also attended McNeese State University. Nick's teachers and instructors would always state what a model student he was.
Nicholas had a wide range of interest, he was an avid baseball player and he also obtained his 2nd degree red belt in Karate. Nick loved to snorkel, but most of all he had mastery skills in all forms of art media.
Our lives were changed when Nicholas was hit by a car while walking home from school; he was just 9 years old. There were many hours that he lay clinging on to life. With the countless number of surgeries that he has undergone, he went through each procedure as a soldier preparing for war, he never complained or asked "Why me?" Nicholas has had to deal with so much adversity related to his injuries but his courage and tenacity were unwavering. His remarkable attitude never ceases to amaze people. His favorite scripture is Philippians
4:13
"I can do all things in Christ that strengthens me."
Nicholas truly believed in God. He was christened and baptized at the Mt. Calvary BC, where he participated in the youth ministry and
Sunday
school. Every
Saturday
he would look forward to going to church the next day. He knew and believed that one day God would heal him from epilepsy.
Although limited in some of the aspects of life, Nick never made excuses and gave his best to all he would undertake. His generosity and kindness were hallmarks of his charter. His effervescent smile and light brown eyes could melt your heart away. His love for children was evident as you would see him outside shooting basketball and making Koolaid for his special friends. He made an impression with them as a gentle giant. To adults he was gracious, soft spoken and caring. He would go out of his way to assist anyone, he saw God's beauty each day and no matter how bad of a day he was having he would say "it's a good day!"
Nick loved traveling, experiencing new cultures and he loved to eat! But most of all he loved family. Any opportunity he would get to fellowship with his extended family brought him great joy. In his short life he touched many lives and enriched and enhanced the lives of his parents. He was a living example of what a servant of God should be, always humble and never doubt that one day a great reward awaits us.
He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Henry and Elizabeth Balkey Webb.
Left to cherish his loving memories are his parents Richard and Carla Clark, his sister Ashley Nicole, his paternal grandparents, Richard and Nelrene Clark, and host of relatives and friends.
