Nolan Gallo, age 90, was an ordinary man who lived an extraordinary life.  He passed of natural causes on Friday, March 23, 2018 in Lake Charles, LA.

Born December 15, 1927 in Opelousas, LA., Nolan loved his parents and his ten brothers and sisters.  Though he was the third oldest of the Gallo gang, Nolan strived to set an example for all of his siblings.  He worked hard for the family he was born into, leaving school in the fifth grade in order to work the family farm.  His hard work continued when he married Anna Stelly, also of Opelousas.  Nolan supported the family he and Anna created while working as an industrial painter for over 40 years at Cities Services Corporation.  Nolan devoted his life to The Lord, serving faithfully as an usher at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lake Charles for over 60 years.  Nolan was known to do anything and everything for his church family, from mowing lawns to cooking barbecue.  He and his wife enjoyed cooking out with family and friends, as well as dancing the Zydeco.  Nolan and Anna were married for 55 years, before her death in January of 2005.

Nolan joins in heaven his wife, Anna Gallo; his daughter, Jocelyn Fant;  his parents, August and Pearl Gallo; several brothers and sisters; and a host of other family and friends.

Nolan and his wife raised eight children:  Jocelyn, deceased in 2001; Peggy Reliford, of Lake Charles, LA.; John Roland Gallo of Pineville, LA.; Nolan Gerard Gallo (Alexandra) of Long Beach, CA.;  Herbert Gallo of Los Angeles, CA.; Arlene Williams (Antonio) of Houston, TX.;  and his two oldest, beloved, granddaughters, Bridget Levine (Frank) of Lake Charles and Meco Duhon (Waylin) of Waldorf, MD.

His five remaining grandchildren are Leo Henny, Jr. (Henrietta) of Lake Charles, LA.; Rico Fant of San Diego, CA.; Katherine Williams of Las Vegas, NV.; Nicholas Gallo of San Diego, CA.; and Elizabeth Williams of Cincinnati, OH.  Nolan has fourteen great-grandchildren and ten great-great-grandchildren.
