Nolton Fontenot was born to Guillian and Mary Guillory Fontenot on April 15, 1934, in Mallet, LA. He was fourteen of eighteen children. At the age of 26 he moved to Lake Charles, LA where he met and married his wife of 51 years, Gloria Cezere-Fontenot. Nolton was an advid horseman where he bred, raised, and conditioned Thoroughbred Racehorses. He also worked in construction at local refineries and was an active member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church for 60+ years. He loved and enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.

He leaves to cherish fond memories, two sons, Richard (Rhonda) Fontenot, and Jocko (Andrea) Fontenot, both of Lake Charles, LA. One sister, Ruby Fontenot of Lake Charles; and a sister-in-law, Katherine Cezere of Lake Charles. Seven grandchildren, Keylan, Alayah, Javon, Roman, Rilley, Ailani, and Royce; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Guillian and Mary Guillory Fontenot, wife, Gloria Fontenot, daughter, Monique Fontenot and seventeen other siblings.
