Patricia Ann Carter Young-Brown, 58 years old of Lake Charles,LA died on Thursday March 7, 2013.

Pat was born September 12, 1954 in Lake Charles, LA to Lueiliana and Huey Carter Sr. She grew up during very tumultuous times, including segregation, Jim Crow, and the Civil rights movement. She was married to the late Alfred Young Sr. for 37 years, and was recently wed to Paul Brown Sr., on October 27, 2012. She graduated from W.O. Boston High School, and helped many members of the community with her wealth of knowledge about income taxes, bookkeeping, and accounting. She was a dedicated wife, mother, and always saw the best in any situation.

Pat was born and raised in Lake Charles, LA. She enjoyed helping others, and dedicated her life to the greater good. She was a Saints fanatic, an amazing cook, a sensible confidante, and a wiz with numbers. Pat had a wonderful spirited personality, a great sense of humor, and was always the nurturer.

Pat is survived by her father Huey Carter Sr. Her husband and companion Paul Brown Sr. Her four loving children Alana Young (Antonio Tezeno), Alfred Young Jr. (Katie Young), Brittany Young, and Berttina Tombs (Phillip Tombs Sr.). Her three step children Elfreida Young, Ronald Young, and Jason Young. Her grandchildren Eboni Young, Justin Young, Erron Young, Corben Young, Jakayla Young, Alexus Young, Kaden Young, Samantha Young, Elijah Barnett, Harmony Young, Destiny Young, Jocelyn Young, Phillip Tombs Jr., and Sophia Young. Her great grand children Skylynn Poullard, Greg Young, and Greysion Young. Her siblings Bertha Poullard, Cherlynn Martin (Eddie), Huey Carter Jr. (Marilyn), Debrah Rachel, Eric Carter, Cynthia Brown (James Sr.), Nathan Carter, Mark Carter Sr., Her Aunts LeeAnn Lewis (George), Virginia Love, Mary Ann Carter, and Josephine Bennet and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, in-laws, and friends. She is predeceased by her mother Lueliana Carter, her brother James Poullard, her grandson Emmanuel Young, and her late husband Alfred Young Sr.

Pat's memorial service will be Thursday, March 14, 2013 at 6p.m. at Christian World with Pastor Jerry Snider officiating over the ceremony. The reception will be held at the Former Reynaud YMCA immediately following the funeral.
