Paul Hanney, 87, was born on Aug. 21, 1927, in Lawtell, La. He passed away June 29, 2015. He was raised in Church Point, La., and was a lifelong resident of Lake Charles, La. Paul served two years in the military. He was a faithful member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, the Cursillo and the Knights of Peter Claver. He retired from the City of Lake Charles in 1992. Paul enjoyed gardening and spending time with his lovely wife, Elrine, and his family and friends.

He leaves to cherish his wife, Elrine Thibodeaux Hanney of Lake Charles, La.; four sons, Charles (Gwen) Hanney of Lake Charles, La., Terry Hanney Sr. of Lake Charles, La., James (Jackie) Hanney of Houston, Texas, Gary Hanney of Lake Charles, La.; two daughters, Barbara (Hanney) Richardson of Iowa, La., Jennifer Hanney of Lake Charles, La.; two sisters, Wilma Guillory of Opelousas, La., and Earline Bellard of Lawtell, La.; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He also leaves to mourn numerous relatives and special friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Daisy Stanberry and Edward Hanney; 10 brothers, Aaron Trail of Church Point, La., Anthony Trail of San Francisco, Calif., Joseph Quelyn Trail, Allen Hanney, Alvin Hanney, Howard Hanney, Milton Hanney, John Truman Trail Sr., Joseph (Joe) Trail, Lionel (Leo) Hanney, all of

Lake Charles, La.; three sisters, Emily Douresseau of Opelousas, La., Alberta Jenkins of Lake Charles, La., and Rose Hanney of Washington, La.

SERVICE INFORMATION

Service date: July 4, 2015

Visitation will be Saturday, July 4, 2015, at 7 a.m. until 9:40 a.m. in Combre Funeral Home in Lake Charles, La. A Mass will be held Saturday in Immaculate Heart Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of Combre Funeral Home.
