Paul Thomas, Sr, 81, departed this life on Sunday, February 7, 2016. Paul was born to Joseph Thomas and Alberta Semien in Manchester, Louisiana on December 21, 1934. He lived in Lake Charles, Louisiana until the age of 20 and then he moved to Houston, Texas where he lived for many years. Paul later relocated back to Lake Charles. He met and married the love of his life, Mary Jane Malveaux and to this union 6 children were born.
Paul was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. He was a veteran of World War II and served in the United States Navy. He was employed at Conoco and retired after 28 years. He enjoyed fishing and sitting on his front porch. He also loved gardening, barbecuing, and watching baseball. Paul enjoyed family gatherings and spending time with his grandchildren. He will be remembered as a loving, loyal, and giving person.
He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Alberta Thomas; son Gary Lynn Thomas; and great grandchild Michael Thomas, Jr
Cherishing his memories is his loving wife of fifty-seven years Mary Jane Malveaux Thomas; Brenda (Fred) Fontenot; Jerome Thomas, Paul (Tonya) Thomas, Jr, Mark Anthony Thomas, Patrick (Renee) Thomas, Andrea (Zachary) Thomas-Spikes all of Lake Charles, Louisiana. Brother Gregory Hayes of Houston, Texas; and sister Delores Shelton of Atlanta, Georgia; 14 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
SERVICE INFORMATION
Service date: February 13, 2016
His funeral will be at 10 am Saturday, February 13th, in Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of Combre Funeral Home. Visitation is Saturday morning from 8 am to 9:45 am in the Funeral Home.
