Obituary for Ragle "Joe" Celestine

On Thursday, July 28, 2023, Ragle "Joe" Celestine, 81, departed this earthy life at Harbor Hospice.

Ragle was born on February 10, 1942, to the late Raymond Celestine and Mary Jane Captain in Lake Charles, Louisiana. He attended Washington High School. After High School, he enlisted in the United States Army. While serving in the Army he went to Vietnam to fight for his country. After he returned home from his military duties "Joe" as he was called by most of his family and friends went to work for Firestone Polymers for forty-two years.

Joe believed in education. He assisted several of his family members and friends with their education.

He leaves to cherish his memories one son, Roderick Celestine of Lake Charles, Louisiana; three grandchildren, Keyvan Harris and Karin Harris of Lake Charles, Louisiana and Avion Williams of Houston, Texas; and a host of nieces and nephews, relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Celestine Sr., and Mary Jane Celestine; his sister, Audrey Slaughter; granddaughter, Katrell Larin Harris; niece, Audrette Slaughter Metoyer; three brothers, Huey Celestine Sr., Raymond Celestine Jr., and Parker Celestine.
