Ray Collins, 85, died Monday, Dec. 17, 2013, in Christus Dubuis Hospital. He was a native of Elton, La., and he lived in Lake Charles for 61 years.

Survivors include his wife, Rita Collins of Lake Charles; three daughters, Sharon Jones (Albert) of Lake Charles, Bernadette Straughter (Kirby) of Missouri City, Texas, and Elizabeth Chambers (Dennis) of Houston, Texas; five sons, Willie Collins (Peggy), Charles Collins (Betty), Patrick Collins (Cassandra), all of Lake Charles, Anthony Collins (Debra) of Mesquite, Texas, and Jerome Collins (Myrna) of Missouri City, Texas; three sisters, Helen Lavan of Lake Charles, Josephine Ballou of Los Angeles, Calif., and Ruby Ceasar of Elton, La.; and one brother, Herbert Collins (Betty) of Houston, Texas; 29 grandchildren, 36 greatgrandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013, in Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church of Lake Charles. The viewing will be held in Combre Funeral Home from 9 a.m. - 10:40 a.m.
