Remanuel Sam Hollier of Lake Charles, LA passed away on June 26th after a long illness.  She was born in a barn on May 23rd, 1936 to Tarlton Sam and Edna Joseph Sam in Plaisance, LA.

Remanuel attended Second Ward Colored School and W. O. Boston High School.  She was later educated at Grambling State College.

Remanuel began her 30+ years of teaching at Immaculate Heart of Mary and later Calcasieu Parish Head Start.

Remanuel is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, James T. Hollier, Sr., her children; James, Jr., Ray, Victor, Billy-Joe, Viveca Woods, eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
