IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Rena Rubin
Collins
June 22, 1931 – May 23, 2016
Rena Theresa Rubin Collins, 84, was born on June 22, 1931 in Opelousas, Louisiana to the late Adam Rubin and Caroline Sias Rubin.
Rena was a devout member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church until she became weak. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and was a prayer warrior. She prayed about everything. She prayed every morning, throughout the day, and before retiring at night. She was grateful for God no matter what, always looking up towards Heaven.
Moma was best known for her great cooking. She worked many years as a cook at Tom and Mack''s on East Broad Street until closing and had a deep impact with those she worked with. Another passion she had was babysitting the neighborhood kids. She also enjoyed the many years of walking everywhere from the grocery store to the washeteria to the hospital. Moma''s joy over her lifespan was taking care of over 60 some grandchildren, and having them walk with her. Her philosophy for taking care of kids was, "If you can walk, I''ll take you with me".
